Well, it's a bittersweet day for the Copeland family. We closed on the sale of our Oxford house. I'm sure most of you know this, but we built this house pretty much from the ground up. We bought a set a plans, but Charles worked with them so much, there isn't much that is the same as the original blue prints. He contracted all the work himself, and even did some of the jobs himself - woodwork, dirt work, porches etc... Every single thing about this house is a product of a decision we made. It took us a complete year of our lives to build. During that year we started and finished our first year of law school, and had our second child.
But now, it is no longer ours. I am so glad that the cutest, nicest couple bought it. They are about our age but don't have any children yet. They really seem to love the house, and it makes me happy to have someone moving in that I know will enjoy it the way we intended it to be enjoyed.
Even though we have essentially been living in Jackson for the last few months, it didn't really seem final until today. We are really enjoying Jackson though, and looking forward to our new house and the projects it will bring. We have been in Oxford since 1996, except for 18 months when we moved to Memphis after under-grad. So while we are excited about our new life, it is a little sad to leave our old life behind.
