Trip!!!

The Copeland Crew is hitting the road and headed to Disney World. We leave in about three weeks and we are so so excited!!!

I know some of my blog readers have taken their kids that are about the same ages as ours to Disney already. So who has any tips or suggestions for our trip?

Also, we haven't booked a hotel yet. We want to stay in the Park, but haven't been able to make up our minds about which resort. There are still plenty of rooms available at most of the places I've looked at, since I think we should be there at a relatively "un-crowded" time for Disney. Has anyone stayed anywhere they loved, or wish they had stayed somewhere else, etc... Any info is appreciated. Either leave it in the comments or email me - susancopeland@gmail.com.

A third child

Okay, not really. But I'm guessing that title got your attention. Really, I just decided to post these cute pictures from a couple of weeks ago and needed something to name the post.

These are some pics from when I took Libby, Carlisle, and Rainey to the Ag Museum a couple of weeks ago. Libby was hanging out with us while her parents moved. I had never been before, but someone mentioned it was a good place for a kid's party. So I took all the girls to go scout it out for Rainey's upcoming birthday.

It really was a neat place. There is an "old timey" main street with a church, general store, doctor's office etc... barnyard animals, a small carousel, a train. The girls loved the stuff in the actual museum too. There are tractors, planes, huge model train display, really just lots of interesting things that they could see and touch and made it fun to explain history to them. Well, as much as you can discuss history with two 4 year olds and an almost 3 year old.

Oh, and here is one more from our last swim of the season. This day Libby was with us while her parents packed the house. See, now all of you people can quit asking when we are going to have a third child (probably never), because I can borrow this child whenever I want. She's polite, doesn't wear diapers, and I can take her home when we get through playing.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to Charles, Happy Birthday to you!!!

Trust me, we are all better off with me typing out "Happy Birthday" instead of singing it.

So, if you couldn't tell, Charles is the birthday boy today. Although he's got a pretty busy week, so we ate dinner with his parents and opened presents on Sunday night. Pictured above is some of his birthday loot. That's right, pots and pans. That was his only desire. A little strange, but whatever.

He has quite the Le Creuset collection now, he also got a few more pieces that aren't pictured here. Now, I've just got to find somewhere to keep it all. That funny looking piece is called a Tagine. Yeah, I had never heard of one either, but he wanted one. It's for traditional North African cooking. Anyone want to come to dinner while we figure it out?

So, Happy Birthday Honey! I hope you have a wonderful day, and I'm expecting you to cook me a fabulous meal tonight in your new birthday pots. (If I cooked for him, it would be no birthday treat).

Grovin'

We had a GREAT time in the Grove this weekend. The Rebels won handily, I mean it was against Samford, but still a win's a win.

This was pretty much an adults only weekend in the tent. We were trying to get the girls dressed and to the Grove, but then mom offered to keep them and Charles and I were backing the car out of the driveway before she could change her mind. Don't get me wrong, we like taking the kids to the Grove, for about an hour. Then someone gets tired, and whiny, and hot, and falls down, and needs to use the gross port-a-potty eight hundred times....You get the idea. It's just a little easier without them.

The table looked awesome (see pictures above), thanks to Meredith and Matt. The food was all great, thanks to everyone actually bringing food this game. The music was supreme, thanks to Charles downloading some lil' Wayne for the after game dance party under the tent. Although the dance party was probably one of the highlights of the day, unfortunately (or probably fortunately) my camera didn't come out for it. Instead you can enjoy the more tame pictures from before the game above.

Oh, and to my friends that haven't seen her in forever, yes that is my little sister Bonny in the first picture - can you believe she's a grown-up now? And while I'm commenting on the pictures - am I an Amazon woman or do I just have really short friends?

Edited to Add: I found these fun pictures on Lyn's blog - so I'm stealing from her again. Her pictures are (obviously) from after the game - things were a little more interesting at this point.

Party Animals

Wow, Carlisle's social life is much more happening than mine. We just attended her third "jumping" party in the last week. For those of you who don't have 5 year olds, or don't live in Jackson - the biggest thing in kids parties around here are these indoor places with a bunch of those inflatable space jumps, slides, climbing walls, obstacle courses, etc... The kids love it, but seriously, how much bouncing and banging into each other can their little heads take?

My Deep Dark Secret

Okay, so it's not so deep or dark, or really even a secret to those that know me well....but my name is Susan and I'm a huge procrastinator. I know, *GASP*.

At times in my life I have given the appearance of a real go-getter, get stuff done kind of gal. For instance, going to law school at the same time as my husband, while at the same time building a house, raising one child, birthing another child, missing two days of class, then back to school while now raising two children, managing to graduate fairly high in my class (just to toot my own horn a bit). You get the idea here.

But for the most part, I'm just a procrastinator. Like now, instead of cleaning up around the house or giving the children baths, which is what needs to be done - I'm sitting here thinking of absolutely anything I could do instead. Like a pointless blog post. So here it is, complete with pictures from my recent exploration into the depths of my iPhoto.

The first three pictures are taken by Carlisle while we were in the car. She's quite the photographer I think.





These two I dug up from when the guys came to help us move the new range into the kitchen. Okay, so here I will insert some comments of importance - we have great friends here and we really appreciate that so many people would show up to help for absolutely nothing in return, except maybe a beer.




Okay, so that's it. I'm done blogging about nothing. I really must bathe children now. Check back - surely I'll think of something of more importance to write about.

Johnny Come Lately

Okay, due to the incredible persistence of Jessica and others, I have joined the rest of you dorks on facebook. I can't believe I did this. I managed to avoid it all of law school, while practically everyone around me in class was updating profiles and writing on walls and such - I was actually taking notes. Well, I guess maybe that actually makes me the dork.

Whatever, I still maintain that I have no time to get obsessed with this website, but I'm sure I will anyway. So if I haven't already asked you to be my friend, invite me to be yours.... I'll be waiting!!!

Zoo Party

I'm a thief, I stole this picture from Lyn's Blog, but I didn't have my camera with me last night. Last night we went to Zoo Party and had a blast. Zoo Party is an annual party at the Jackson Zoo, and all the money raised goes to benefit some particular project in the zoo. This year the money is going toward a new tiger habitat - therefore the theme was "Eye of the Tiger".
The 80's band, The Molly Ringwalds, was so much fun - even Breck and Charles danced (not with each other).

Grove 2008 - Girls just wanna have fun

Here are a few pictures from the first game this past weekend. We are covered up with sweet little girls in our Grove tent. Let's see, there are 6 girls, and 1 one poor little boy, Finn. Although Finn is also the youngest and didn't make the trip with big sister Garrison.

Were you watching the republican convention last night? Happen to notice the young blonde woman holding a very young baby that had a several second close up during Joe Lieberman's speech? That's my college roommate, Mary Morgan, and her 3 1/2 month old, Jack. He's got a serious dose of politics in his blood, so I doubt it's the last time you will see him on camera. Go Baby Jack!!

And any of you who happen to live in District 7 of Tennessee, don't forget to vote in November for Jack's G-Mom, (Mary Morgan's mother, aka Marsha Blackburn) as she seeks her fourth term in Congress! Go Marsha!!
